This initiative was part of the "Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project," led by Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups. SYP, as the organizer, focuses on attracting investments in four key technology sectors: AI & Big Data, Bio & Health, Green Energy, and Next-Generation Nuclear.
Promising Korean startups aspiring to enter the European market participated in this event, which included a demo day at Berlin's innovation hub, MotionLab. The event also provided opportunities for networking with local investors and businesses. Seminars by German organizations such as Hamburg Invest, 123 Factory, and SkyinQ offered in-depth insights into market entry strategies and Germany's business environment.
Additionally, SYP visited AsiaBerlin, a partner since June, to discuss strengthening collaboration for Korean companies' European market expansion.
The participating startups included GradeHealthChain, KiwoonTech, Banam, Replar, SR Alpha Therapeutics, Aivirtual, and Huject. The demo day attracted around 12 prominent local investment firms, including B.I.G., MotionLab.Ventures, Nxt Milestone, and Leanox Impact Capital.
SYP's CEO, Sungwook Hong, expressed his optimism, saying, "The Berlin event is expected to serve as a significant stepping stone for Korean startups entering the European market. We are committed to continuously supporting the growth of Korea's deep-tech startups on the global stage." This year, SYP has successfully hosted relay IR events in major cities such as Singapore, Tokyo, and Dubai, further bolstering the global expansion of Korean startups.
