This is an article about DR FuelCell's local demonstration in Germany, supported by SYP under the Global Cooperation Scale-up R&D Support Program.

DR FuelCell (CEO Park Dal-Young) announced that they have initiated a local demonstration in collaboration with Fraunhofer ISE in Germany to establish a foundation for selling their hydrogen generators and polymer electrolyte fuel cell systems abroad.

The demonstration is part of the “2024 Advanced Science and Technology Companies Global Cooperation Scale-up R&D Support Program,” led by the Ministry of Science and ICT, with Korea Techno-Venture Foundation as the operating agency and SYP as the supporting agency. The support period runs until February next year.

To expand their global network and exchange, DR FuelCell will receive support from Fraunhofer for additional experiments, technology advancement, PoC (Proof of Concept), and demonstrations, aiming to enhance the global competitiveness of advanced science and technology companies and promote entry into overseas markets.

Starting this October, DR FuelCell will conduct long-term demonstration operations with Fraunhofer in Germany and work on localizing their products for export to Europe. They also plan to participate in the Korea-Germany Hydrogen Conference in October to promote their activities, with the goal of establishing a business foundation for entry into the European market.

The Fraunhofer Institute is a German research institution specializing in carbon-neutral technology. With over 25 years of research experience in hydrogen fuel cells, it is a leader in the industry. The institute is equipped with facilities capable of environmental testing and monitoring for hydrogen production devices, Balance of Plant (BOP), and fuel cell systems.

Park Dal-Young, CEO of DR FuelCell, said, “We will establish a foundation for entering the European market for hydrogen generators and polymer electrolyte fuel cell systems developed by DR FuelCell, with Germany as our base.”

Meanwhile, DR FuelCell was selected as a deep science startup in the mobility field through an open call by Korea Techno-Venture Foundation and participated in an educational program held in Frankfurt and Leipzig, Germany, from November 26 to December 3 last year, alongside ten other companies. Through this process, they completed coaching courses on global commercialization technology development, business strategy, marketing, communication, intellectual property, funding, and establishing a German subsidiary.
