SYP Says 'Super Gap Startup 1000+ Relay IR @ Dubai' Completion

SYP announced on October 24 that it successfully completed the 'Super Gap Startup 1000+ Relay IR @ Dubai' event in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 17th.


Since this year, accelerator (AC) SYP has been acting as an investment attraction organization in four technologies: AI, big data, bio-health, eco-friendly and energy, and next-generation nuclear power plants of the "ultra-gap startup 1000+ project." The project, which is overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and is dedicated to the Korea Startup Promotion Agency, comprehensively supports commercialization, R&D, open innovation, investment attraction, and policy funds for promising start-ups in 10 ultra-gap sectors.


The event consisted of various programs, including advance mentoring of customized IR deck in Dubai, visits to local organizations, and Demo Day, and was organized to enter the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market and boost investment attraction. The ultra-gap startups participating in the event strengthened their strategies for entering the local market through prior mentoring and had the opportunity to explore growth potential in the Middle East market through meetings with major investors.


As a major local visit program, he visited Masdar City, an eco-friendly city in Abu Dhabi, to listen to special lectures on smart cities and green tech ecosystems, and toured Masdar City Free Zone institutions. The company explained that this visit was an opportunity to confirm the possibility of cooperation in the Middle East for ultra-gap companies that stand out in the eco-friendly and energy sectors.


In addition, special lectures on the investment ecosystem and IR pitching and feedback sessions were held through visits to Catalyst, located in Abu Dhabi, and Global Ventures venture capitalists in Dubai, respectively. This allowed participating companies to get direct feedback from local investors and increase their chances of attracting investment.


The Global IR was held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai on the 15th and was co-hosted by SYP, which is responsible for attracting investment from ultra-gap startups, Korea Electric Power Corporation, which is responsible for commercializing eco-friendly and energy technologies, and the Korea Standards Association, which is responsible for open innovation. A total of more than 36 local and global investment institutions and business partners, including Kubeafril, a consulting agency specializing in the Middle East, attended the event to conduct networking and investment consultations.


A total of 12 ultra-gap startups participated in this event, including ▲ Foodyworm Inc. ▲ Terracle ▲ VPPlab Corp. ▲ A.Virtual▲ FOEL ▲ Infofla ▲ Lee Han Creative ▲ NationA ▲ Warp Solution Inc. ▲ Dtonic ▲ Farmconnect ▲ EnergyX.


Through this event, SYP has supported the advancement of ultra-gap startups in the Middle East market and plans to continue to provide opportunities for startups to grow in various global stages in the future.
